Two days ago Apple released the iPad 3, or how Apple is calling it the 'New iPad'.

Some reviews are saying that because this new iPad is comming with so few new features, this is the opportunity the rivals were waiting for. That this is the opportunity for others tablet makers to surpass Apple.

For Apple’s rivals, most notably Google Inc. and Microsoft Corp., the incremental improvements in the latest iPad may be just the opportunity they need to establish themselves as legitimate competitors to the world’s most valuable company.

And add

In some respects, Apple has become a victim of its own success. Over the past few years, the world has become accustomed to Apple offering up a near constant parade of innovative products, blowout earnings results and record sales figures.

Well, according to Matt Hartley these improvements are not enough. But what about other people?

Ryan from GDT, said:

Amazing. Seriously amazing. I really love the Retina Display on the iPhone 4/4S, but this feels like a step forward even from that. Not because it's a better display (which it may well be), but because the much larger scale of the screen makes it feel transformative to the experience of looking at a Retina Display and using an iPad.

Answering to himself "So how IS the Retina Display on the new iPad?", so, this shows that this simple feature is a big feature and a big earning in the new iPad.

To me, there is now way to qualify a tablet as the best one in the market, there are some of them that are actually great, being Apple one of them of course. And this new feature is not a way to stand in front of the others is just something that makes the iPad even better.

Your decision to buy an iPad or an Android tablet, should be based on your needs and not on reviews of fan boys from one or the other side.

If you need something small, you maybe need the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, if you have a Mac, and an iPhone your best bet is the iPad, if you need to use the keyboard a lot, and have your email account in Google Apps, and plan to use your tablet mainly to consume media and emails and social networks, maybe the Asus Slider is the way to go.

So, too few improvements? is Apple's iPad losing the race?. No way it is a great feature, and the iPad users now have an even better one.

I'll cite John Gruber's comment to close this post:

Two years after announcing the original iPad, Apple has produced a version that simply blows that original model away in every single regard. It’s faster, it’s thinner, it feels better in hand, it supports LTE networking, and yet battery life is better. The retina display is simply astounding to behold. Eight days from today they’re shipping a product that two years ago would have been impossible at any price, and they’ve made it look easy.

This summarize all improvements the new iPad has to offer you.
